All e*Tagฎ
reader/writers meet ISO 15693 and 14443A standards. The product
series is designated as ET4-, followed by letters that
designate the communications and housing specifications of the
product.
The following communication methods are available:
X = RS-485 communications (supports multiple readers on
a twisted pair bus).
R = RS-232 communications.
W = Wiegand communications (commonly used for access
control systems).
T = TTL (transistor-transistor logic) communications.
Some e*Tagฎ models combine two communication methods,
i.e. WX (Wiegand and RS-485).
There are currently four form factors of the e*Tagฎ
reader/writer:
M = Mini housing (approx. 1.5" x 3.5"), with integral
antenna, potted for moisture and dust resistance.
S = Switchplate housing (approx. 3.25" x 4.5"), with
integral antenna, potted for moisture and dust resistance.
E = Board only, with 10-pin connector for remote 50-ohm
antenna (No or buzzer).
N = Board only, with SMA coaxial connector for 50-ohm
antenna (not available with RS-232), LED and buzzer.
