By utilizing a network of Secura Key Smart Switches (model SK-SS), an almost unlimited number of ENTRACOMP® 27SA AND 28SA units may be connected to the same serial printer.

Since the Smart Switch comes in a 4 to 1 configuration, it is a simple matter to connect the ENTRACOMP® 27SA or 28SA units to the input ports of the Smart Switch and the output or "main" port of the Smart Switch to the serial printer.

The Smart Switch controls the communications traffic coming from the ENTRACOMP® 27SA and 28SA units so that the transactions from the various units don’t interfere with each other. By linking the Smart Switches, a network of an almost unlimited number of ENTRACOMP® 27SA and 28SA units may be constructed, all recording their transactions on the same serial printer (see diagram). It is advisable to give each ENTRACOMP® unit an ID or "Name" so that when a transaction is printed, you know from which unit it was sent. To give an ENTRACOMP® 27SA or 28SA an ID designation, use a terminal or PC and choose the "SET READER ID" selection of the system settings menu. SA-LINK Terminal Software is provided with the Smart Switch.
